11th COGNO Annual Scientific Meeting
Targeting survival: living well with brain cancer in the era of precision treatments

Sunday 7th October - Tuesday 9th October 2018
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Queensland, Australia

Convenor's Welcome
I am delighted to invite you to attend the 11th COGNO Annual Scientific Meeting to be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia.

We are very fortunate to host international leaders spanning a broad range of relevant disciplines including Professor Mark Gilbert, A/Professor Erik Sulman, Professor Susan Chang and Dr Terri Armstrong. Together with a number of Australian speakers, the scientific programme will offer across two full days a robust review of current clinical and translational developments in the field of neuro-oncology.

I encourage as many of you as possible to submit your own work for consideration as an oral or poster presentation at the meeting. The themes include:
  • Glioma
  • Brain Metastasis
  • Adolescent and young adult, paediatric and rare CNS tumours
  • Translational Science
  • Survivorship, psychology and supportive care
The deadline for abstract submission is 6th July 2018. As in previous years, COGNO is offering awards for the best abstracts. This year we are pleased to announce an additional prize recognising research excellence in any discipline related to supportive care for people with brain tumour: the BTAA Lynette Williams Award.

The Welcome Reception and Poster Walkaround will be held on Monday 8th October. This will be an excellent opportunity to view the work on display, network with colleagues and our international guests, and interact with our sponsors.  The Conference Dinner will be held in the Sky Room at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre that evening.  Highlights will include presentation of the Hubert Stuerzl Memorial Educational Award, the COGNO Outreach Preceptorship Award and the BTAA Lynette Williams Award.  Tickets for the Conference Dinner can be purchased at the time of registration.

I look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane in October.
